Stay in our own lane (your own anointing!).

 Stay in your own lane!  3 plus lanes of traffic, all going in the same direction, require each one to pay attention and stay in their lane!  



There is an amazing story in the Old Testament of a king named Uzziah who changed lanes when he wasn’t supposed to!


You can read the whole story in 2 Chronicles 26.  But for ease, I will simply insert two portions:


# 1:  Obedience produces prosperity:


Uzziah… 2 Chron 26

2 Chronicles 26:3-5 (NKJV) 3 Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem. 4 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. 5 He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.


# 2:  Uzziah’s unauthorized act of worship


2 Chronicles 26:16 (NKJV) 16 But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.


You see, under the Old Covenant, the people who were to offer incense and lead in public worship were priests from the tribe of Levi.  Uzziah was not a Levite—he was from the tribe of Judah—and he had no business entering into the temple to burn incense.


When you are blessed—arising from your obedience, humility, surrender and submission to others who are over you in the LORD… you might  have a tendency to move outside YOUR anointing.  Uzziah’s story is a word of caution to all!  That moving is a coming out from under the Lord’s anointing and blessing for you. Walk carefully and cautiously—-aways UNDER someone else, always in humility, and always in appreciation of another’s anointing.  Moving out from your anointing will hurt you, hurt the body of Christ and bring disrepute to the kingdom of God.


When Uzziah became ‘too big for his britches’ so to speak—the Lord struck him with leprosy.  This makes me wonder how many of us have a leprous spot on our foreheads but are too arrogant to notice it?

It's just too noisy!

      Dumb Mistakes   Why do Christians, pastors, leaders, ushers, —everyday Christians— make real dumb mistakes.  Now I am talking about real dumb moral mistakes—lying, cheating, immorality, thievery—-like why?
