Opinionated and vocal people ?

Image
Some of the most opinionated and vocal people in church are often weak in their spirituality and maturity. Why are they opinionated? Because they don’t know how weak they are.  They have no sense of self examination.  No process whereby they spend time looking in the mirror—which results in little or no self-knowledge.  It is said that the three basic tools that are needed for spirituality and spiritual growth are:  grace (from God), virtues (inspired by the indwelling Spirit),  and self-knowledge.   You cannot move ahead on your spiritual journey without self-knowledge.  Self-knowledge includes—but is not limited to the following: You own personal sin battles.  Every Biblical Christian spiritual virtue has its counterpart.   (Patience vs impatience).  Self knowledge requires one’s understanding of one’s own sins and sin tendencies.  Every step forward on your journey is opposed by evil forces .  No one is immune to the attack from evil forces. Daily examination of one’s own

Well--this is what I think about what is going on!

Do I have opinions? Yes…but a couple of things worth nothing: I need less of my opinions because opinions generate into being  opinionated.  Opinionated generally means talking too much! Proverbs 10:19 (NLT)  “ Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.” Forging my opinion about _____________________(fill in the blank) is time consuming.  Is that the best way to use my time? My opinions are a gateway for something that is plaguing our culture… entitlement!  I’m entitled to my opinion so I will soapbox it!  Really?  Nahum 6:8 (NKJV) “ He has shown you, O man, what is good;  And what does the Lord require of you. But to do justly,  To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”  What?  Nothing about my opinion? So Yes I have opinions—-but perhaps I would be better off, and others would be better off, when I keep them to myself, or better yet—talk to Jesus only about them!
